Cumberland and Erly is proud to be recognized for their contributions to the community 13 November 2010 In her role as Chairperson of the Calvert County Pro Bono Committee for the past four years, Amy Lorenzini has been personally responsible for screening pro bono cases called into the Calvert County Bar Association and placing the clients with volunteer attorneys. In addition, she has been responsible for recruiting and scheduling visiting attorneys to staff the Pro Se Family Law Clinic at the Circuit Court for Calvert County, and has volunteered many hours of her own time staffing the clinic and covering emergencies. Averaging one hundred pro bono hours each year, Lorenzini has represented many indigent and low-income clients in matters involving family law, custody, child support, domestic violence, and property law. According to Cheri Staples, President of the Calvert County Bar Association, "Ms. Lorenzini dedicates countless hours as a pro bono attorney each year, and her enthusiasm and tireless efforts motivate other lawyers to take on pro bono cases. She has established a reputation as someone the bar and bench can count on, and she is always willing to mentor other pro-bono attorneys." Amy Lorenzini was the recipient of the 2010 Calvert County Law Day Award for her pro bono service.
